There is evil in this world...but through it all, may we all take the time to not give evil the attention it wants, but give the brave the attention they deserve.
The strength of the people who lost their lives, the ones who fought for others, the families that had to face today with one less person, the firefighters, the policeman and America.
We were all changed 10 years ago today, some more than others...and my heart goes out to each of them.
We have spent a lot of time watching documentaries this past week, and especially today, and each story continues to churn my stomach.
I know a lot of people choose to not spend their time on these documentaries, and trust me...it's tough on the heart. But for me, it's what helps me remember that day. It's what helps me remember what America stands for and why I am proud to call myself part of this country. It helps me remember what that day was like, even for a 7th grader, and it helps me remember so I will be able to tell my children one day exactly what September 11th means. I want to be able to explain the strength, the bravery, the compassion and the never ending support that I have seen from so many people through the past 10 years.
God bless the people who fought, God bless the people who are still fighting through the pain even today. My prayers are for each of you tonight. I pray each of you have found peace today. I will never forget.
God Bless America. Land that I love.
I think the memorial at ground zero has done a perfect job of signifying the life that was there, and the life that lives on.
