Popping Bottles...For Real

    Yes, for real this time!

Charlie and I headed to a little restaurant we had been dying to try!! We finally caught on to the fact that you could NEVER get reservations on a Friday night there, unless you made them 2 weeks in advance. We got our reservation secured after we found out about his promotion, and Friday night we were on our way, and I was down right giddy about the date night we had ahead of us.

This picture doesn't do the back yard of the restaurant justice.
It's on the side of the Chattahoochee river.
Friday night was spent out here full of cool air,
    pretty lights, good conversation
and yummy drinks before we sat down for dinner.

    The outside bar.
They make quite a mean cosmo!

You see, I'm a sucker for outside settings at restaurants. And Canoe hit the nail on the head with this setting. I have never enjoyed a restaurants environment so much!

Back to our popping bottles portion of the night...Thank goodness we were able to snag a table outside on the patio! If you ever go here, request to be outside, you're missing out if you don't!

When we sat down at our table, complete confusion struck both mine and Charlie's faces. There it was, a bottle of champagne and we had two champagne glasses. We immediately both questioned each other, but neither one of us were guilty of being so sweet and thoughtful (dang it, that really could have been my chance).

We of course thought the champagne was  a mistake, which meant we were going to have to give it back...bummer. Then the waitress came over and explained that my sweet little parents had called and ordered the champagne for us! WHAT! Those sweet people are 3 hours away. I immediately started tearing up. God, their sweet hearts is more than I could ever ask for. Love them. Love them. Love them. Charlie and I agreed the only thing that would have made the night better would have been them coming around the corner surprising us with the champagne.

So there we were popping bottles of champagne :) and eating some of the most delicious food I have ever had. We ordered Rabbit and Duck. What were we thinking?? I have no idea. But we were certainly thinking right. It was AH-mazing. I never knew what to expect from rabbit or duck, but yummy in my tummy. It's definitely nothing I plan on trying again somewhere. I just figured when you are at a nice restaurant, that's the time to try something new! Do as the romans do, right?

Saturday...football on the couch. Oh and free Chick-fil-A breakfast. Therefore, Saturday was perfection. Oh, and both the Tigers and Heels won! Extra perfection.

Then Sunday...we took a spontaneous trip to the North Georgia mountains to meet my parents for lunch!!!! We met somewhere in the middle, just to grab a bite to each and spend a little time together! I am so thankful to have parents who are willing to drive just for a couple of hours of conversation and laughs. I'd drive every day if there were enough hours to allow it. Charlie and I enjoyed our time with them so much!! There are many of those meet in the middle trips in our future.
     Family style dinner.
And we got to drink out of mason jars.
    I heart the south.

I hope y'all had an amazing weekend!! It seems like all we did was eat...do you guys have weekend like that, too? But hello, it made me very happy :)
