760 miles

I feel like I'm going to blabber a lot in this post. I've got lots to say on this Sunday night :)

But first, THANK YOU for your sweet comments on my new do! You all sure know how to make a girl's weekend. Your sweet souls are much appreciated!

We spent this weekend in Chapel Hill at an engagement party for one of Charlie's fraternity brothers. We had such a great weekend, but woah baby what a trip it was. It was 380 miles there, and 380 miles back. I think we spent more time in the car this weekend than we did outside! Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration...but still, that's a long time. What do you guys do on long trips?

Let me tell you what we do to pass the time...we play Family Feud on my phone. Surround sound baby! Haha. I plug my phone in to the ipod player, and the questions burst through the speakers. We are both competitive, and like to think we are really good at the game. You should try it to help pass the time!

We left here on Friday night and drove to Charlotte and stayed with our newly married friends! It was so fun to see their new home. Loved getting to spend time with them, they are by far one of my favorite couples!

Before we made it to their house we had a little out-of-town date night at Firebirds and Pinkberry. Anything fro-yo makes the night perfect for me, and our dinner at Firebirds made it even better! Two words...lobster queso. You'd love it...we scraped the bowl clean, and then split a bleu cheese filet. We also had a blue moon at dinner which kicked off the weekend perfectly! You'd think we were full, but no, no...on to Pinkberry we went! Which of course included watermelon, kiwi, strawberries, and...cheesecake bites! Nom.

Let me take this moment to obnoxiously say that I absolutely love my boyfriend. I am always grateful for him, but had a nice reminder this weekend of just what an amazing job he does of taking care of me. I'm a tough one sometimes. Thanks for listening :) now, back to the weekend festivities...

Saturday we headed to Chapel Hill...it was an overcast, rainy day and the ride there was so refreshing  spent with absolutely NO A/C. That's right, the A/C went out in our car on Saturday morning. This is where I remind you that we were traveling some 6.5 hours away from home this weekend! Little secret about me, I must have circulating air at all times (so high maintenance). I just can't do heat. Just cannot. Charlie even packs a fan any time we travel so I can have extra coolness! Luckily, it's September and not June or July...so we rode with the windows down and handle it just fine! It got a little warmer the closer we got back to Georgia but I'm now cool/showered and piled up on the couch. All is well :) Except we need to make an appointment to get the air checked out. Oh the joys of mess ups. (As I sit here and write this, I feel silly complaining about not having A/C...I know there are people in this world that can't even afford A/C in their own home. So thank you God for always taking care of me. I hate to complain. I am beyond blessed, with or without A/C.)

Holy smokes am I ADD tonight or what?! Thanks for hanging in there if you're still reading!  I knew I was going to be a blabbering mess.

Saturday we got to Chapel Hill and the first thing we did was turn on the Clemson game! I was a nervous wreck, and our friends tried to stay interested but really it was just a lot of me yelling while trying to be part of the conversations as well. It was a scary game against FSU and boy was I sweating it until the final seconds. Clemson is really known for being a wishy-washy school and after beating Auburn I just knew we would freak out and ruin it. But we didn't! Fingers crossed for another successful weekend in Blacksburg. It surely felt good to be a Tiger this weekend. I love my school! Also, thought of my fellow bloggers, Jacki and Jen on Saturday as our friendly rivalry took place! Great game girls :) it absolutely could have gone either way!

Okay, I'm getting exhausted writing this, so I know you're exhausted reading it...let's get some quick writing going, deal? Deal.

The engagement party was amazing and the food was delicious (oh, how I missed East Carolina BBQ). There were lots of laughs, and it was a late late night for old us. Cracks me up how different life is after college. I struggled this morning a little after pretending we were back in college last night. It's always so great to see everyone, we all live in about 100 different places so having all of these engagements and weddings makes for good excuses to meet up! Also...anybody a Carolina basketball fan??? We ran in to Tyler Hansbrough and Bobby Fraiser last night at one of the bars. I wasn't "star-struck" but definitely thought it was very neat to see them out and not on TV!

As you could imagine, it was a long ride home today with the windows down! We made a few stops which broke up the ride nicely, and I always love an excuse to spend 6.5 uninterrupted hours with my boy!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! :) Would love to hear all about it!! Have a nice relaxing Sunday night! That's what they are meant for.
