I'm lucky enough to feel like I've encountered destiny in a lot of areas in life, and one of those destiny moments happens to be with my best friend, Brittany, known in the blog world as Southernly Smitten
This girl is everything I am and everything I'm not. She's the best friend I always wanted to have and the quite/smart voice in my head when I'm trying to make an important decision. She's someone who dreams unrealistically with me, but then brings me back to earth when I'm a bit dramatic.
Now that I've got the mushy, I am more than thankful for her feelings out of the way...let me just tell you one more thing about Southernly Smitten...SHE. IS. A. BLAST!!!! She knows how to make every second of life fun and having her around for the past 4 years has been more of a joy than I can explain.
Southernly Smitten was my freshman year roommate...and I could sit here and tell you that if she hadn't been my "kind of random" roommate I would have never met her...but that's where destiny comes in...I couldn't count on my hands how many times I would have encountered her over my 4 years in college without it being on purpose. And I guarantee you...if she hadn't been my freshman year roommate, I would have wanted to be her friend every single chance I would have gotten to meet her.
...let's make this story a little more weird.......
She was my freshman roommate, she was the only person at Clemson I knew when I walked on that campus freshman year, she was my home away from home every time I was home sick..............and by a freaky weird, "destiny" scheme...I sat RIGHT in front of her at graduation. I'm trying to keep my name anonymous through this for the sake of job hunts, etc...but people, trust me when I say our last names are NOT near each other in the alphabet, and by the grace of God and some perfectly imperfect happenings we got to spend our last day as Clemson students TOGETHER. I spent my first with her, and there's not another person I would want to spend my last with.
Okay...here's one more curve ball for you...
We now live in Atlanta together!!! That's right, readers...without any planning or forcing of situations it just so happens that B and myself are taking on this real world/city life TOGETHER. Amen, Amen, Amen!
God had big plans for us to become friends...and he makes that apparent every single year we continue this friendship.
