The Croquembouche

The Croquembouche is an amazing tower of goodness! And so fun! It's the traditional French wedding cake, but also served at events such as baptisms and first communions! Madonna had a croquembouche at her wedding to Guy Richie. It's basically is a tower of choux pastry puffs filled with vanilla pastry cream. The tower is coated in a thin hard shell crust of crispy caramel. The “glue” which holds the puffs together in the pyramid shape is melted toffee or chocolate ganache. The name Croquembouche comes from the French words croque-en-bouche meaning 'crunch in the mouth'. Find some good history on this cake HERE! I'm going to make this my new Christmas Tradition! Happy Wednesday! xoxo, Julie
