Cake Balls

    Cake Balls are popping up everywhere and I finally got a good recipe from a friend that made them over the weekend with her 4 year old daughter. She said they were super easy, just a little time consuming.  She found the lollipop sticks and plastic bags to wrap each individually at Walmart!  The recipe can be experimented with other flavors!     My friend Lori's Chocolate Cake Balls

    1 box Devil’s Food Cake Mix
    1 pack of almond bark
    1 can of chocolate icing

    Bake cake according to directions.  After cooled, throw cake in a bowl.  Mix cake with ¾ of the icing and then form into balls.  Put into refrigerator for a little while.  Melt half of almond bark in microwave according to directions.  Cover the balls by using a fork or spoon and place on wax paper.

    OR my friend Karron's Vanilla Cake Balls

    1 box Betty Crockers Super Moist Vanilla Cake Mix
    Plymouth Pantry Almond Bark Vanilla Flavored
    1 can Pillsbury's Creamy Cream Cheese Icing
    Almond Extract (put it in when the cake and icing are mixed)

    Bake cake according to directions.  After cooled, throw cake in a bowl.  Mix cake with ¾ of the icing and then form into balls.  Put into freezer for 30 minuets.  Melt half of almond bark in microwave according to directions.  Cover the balls by using a fork or spoon and place on sticks and on to styrafoam.

    UPDATE:  We made the vanilla ones and they are the yummiest, cutest, most fun things ever! A few tips-make sure to make the balls about gumball-sized, only stick the sticks in half-way through each ball and freeze for a good hour. We had a problem with the sticks falling through the balls when we were covering with melted almond bark-so I'm pretty sure those tips will help you. We ended up making those with stick problems in to upside down cake balls!
