yummy muffins & pretty pumpkins

    Few problems tonight...

    1. I drank sweet tea with dinner, I am bouncing off the walls and I'm pretty sure I am about to drive Charlie crazy.

    2. There are approximately 33 muffins sitting in our kitchen right now. Not just any ordinary muffins, but...pumpkin spice with cream cheese filling muffins. God bless Puttin' on the Grits, one of my favorite blogs! She shared this recipe last week and I have been waiting and waiting to try it ever since then.

They are everything perfect about fall time in the form of a muffin and you all MUST make them. They are so simple to make and the outcome is marvelous. We just enjoyed one and I've got a package together for me to take to work and for Charlie to take to work with him. We figured we should share the pumpkin love, because we definitely couldn't eat 33 muffins...okay, maybe we could, but we aren't going to.

You're probably curious about why there are 33 of them, aren't you? Yeah...well I apparently can't double a recipe, nor can I properly spoon out muffin and cream cheese ratios. I don't have any clue what happened. All I know is that I had a ton of muffin mix left over, and no cream cheese filling after making 24 of them. Charlie ran to the store (sweet boy) and got more cream cheese, so then I used the remainder of the muffin mix and only got 9 more out of that. A weird total of 33 muffins. Who cares though, they are that good.

I'm going to shut up now and just share this amazing recipe with you. Remember, this isn't all me...this is purely Puttin' on the Grits. I just followed her step-by-step instructions (click here for the recipe) and voila! I instantly gained leverage with Charlie. I told him he had to keep me around forever because no other girl would ever be able to make these :) sneaky, sneaky, I know.

Now when it comes to baking for me, I have always believed the best way to have a good outcome is by producing a huge mess during the baking process!

I've never really had that belief...but it always ends up working out that way. Charlie was blown away by the mess I was able to make. Oops :) It was cleaned up though! The kitchen is spotless and there are yummy pumpkin muffins in our tummy. Good deal, if I do say so myself.

     Such a mess!
That little white stuff peeking out at you is
    cream cheese.
    Oh my taste buds. NOM.
These pictures were taken with my iPhone, Grits has some beautiful pictures on her site of the way hers turned out! Mine were pretty, just not as pretty. I'll work on the presentation the next time around.

While the muffins were in the oven, I lit our Autumn scented candle and went to town with panting pumpkins.

Little Susie homemaker tonight here, by the way...did I mention laundry was also going while I did this?! Who am I?? Yeah, I don't know either.

I wasn't thrilled with how the polka dot one turned out. But I knew better than to paint polka dots, I NEVER know where to place those little circles. They always end up in odd places. Anywho, I was very happy with the way the plain ones turned out. I had planed on doing some designs, but realized simple was really pleasant to my eye!

I used Martha Stewart paint. The white I used was a "pearl white". It's really pretty in person!

    Yay fall!

This little guy is my favorite.

Besides these mentioned festivities our weekend was filled with lots of relaxing and football. Weekends like this are some of my favorite :) OH! And Friday night we went and ate in Midtown at a place called the Vortex. It had skulls and scary stuff as decorations (soooooo not our forte) but the burgers are famous and delicious! They've been on Food Network! That little blubber was just a reminder for me down the road! Thanks for listening!

Just one more quick mention...CLEMSON WON!!!! Shew. I was a nervous wreck. I couldn't watch once our QB got taken out,  but we pulled it off! I am more and more proud of them every week. We will be in death valley in two weeks and I cannot wait! #8 in the nation!! I can't even believe it!

Did you do anything fun for fall this weekend? Tell me all about it. Are there any festivities I should be taking part in?

I am still wanting to drink some apple cider and find some new boots. Those two are next on my list.

Hope you had a happy, happy weekend!
