Meet Rome Xavier...
Rome came in this week for his first photo shoot ever, and proved to all of us that he is going to be the next baby supermodel (haha!) Katie and Keven welcomed Rome into the world last Thursday and he is just the sweetest little guy.... He made the funniest faces and expressions throughout the entire shoot, he was CRACKING me up. There are so many cute ones I am uploading the rest of my faves to our event site as they won't all fit here on the blog... Check 'em out! http://www.kristalee.zenfolio.com/ Katie and Keven, hope you love the photos, and congrats on your new addition!!

Where in the world is Krista??!
I am sure some of you have noticed that I have been MIA from the blog recently, so I wanted to give you all an update on what has been going on in my world! Over the past month I have not been shooting as we have been remodeling the studio and the house.. Yes that's right .. Both. At the same time. I know, I'm crazy.. What's new! Haha .. We have a really really cool plan for the studio that our friend Mary Inman (an interior designer at Studio 121) designed for us. It is really coming together and I am very excited about how it is going to turn out. To date, the studio has been mainly a working space rather than a showplace and I am sooo ready to have our space reflect our personality and work. Stay turned for photos of the finished product!
A few other fun facts about January... We all attended the PPA convention (Professional Photographer's of America) that was here in Nashville at the Opryland Convention Center. It was 3 days of listening to amazing speakers, seeing the latest products, and updating ourselves on all of the coolest new goodies available for our cameras and for our customer albums. We found some really smoking new albums that you are gonna LOVE.
I have also been finding some reaaally cool props for all of my kiddo's out there. I just managed to find TWO vintage baby scales on ebay that are going to be PERFECT for newborn shoots, and we are in the process of ordering new rockin' outfits for all of the toddlers to wear at their shoots. Fun fun :)
And lastly, a bit of sad news. I lost my beloved friend of 11 years this month, we had to put down my little Colby. It all happened really fast, he was fine the morning of the 6th but by lunch time he was acting very strangely. I could tell he wasn't feeling well so I immediately took him to the vet. By the time we arrived at the vet's office, Colby was 7 degrees colder than what his body temp should have been and his gums were very pale. I will spare you all of the awful details, but apparently his abdomen was filled with cancerous tumors, one ruptured, and he was bleeding to death internally. It was horrible. Colby has been by my side through thick and thin over the past decade and I am truly truly going to miss him. He was a great dog with a one-of-kind personality and he will be greatly missed.

Shea and Bailey's Big Day!
Q: What do you get when you combine a picturesque country ceremony with a chic Hollywood style reception?
A: Shea and Bailey's amazing day, of course!
Shea and Bailey have such an amazing story. They actually grew up in the same town, dated in high school and then ended up re-connecting after many years. They wanted to have their day to reflect some of the family traditions and locations, so they had ceremony at the small church that Bailey's own grandfather helped build. It was the quaintest little place back in the farmland in Cadiz, Kentucky. They were blessed with beautiful weather so not only were we able to get many shots inside the church, but we also were able to capture some of the beautiful autumn weather with some outdoor photographs! After the ceremony, we all headed to a beautiful mansion that Shea and Bailey's friend so generously offered for the reception. With the help of Shea's friends from Louisville, the already beautiful mansion was transformed into a reception worthy of a Hollywood event. From ice sculptures to crystal diamonds and lovely twilight purples everywhere, the reception was absolutely breath taking. Here is a slide show of some of my favorite shots... All the rest can be viewed on our event site (link in the top right of this page!) Shea and Bailey, thank you for hiring us to capture the most important day of your life! We truly enjoyed being a part of your big day. Enjoy your photos!!! :) Krista

Katie's Maternity Shoot
I had SO much fun shooting Katie's maternity photos! Katie and I go way back, she actually grew up very close to each other in Illinois and we had a lot of common friends... Katie and her husband moved back to Tennessee a few years ago and recently called to tell me that she was expecting! She was such a great sport and told me that she was up for pretty much anything I wanted to do... (Yessssssss!) The weather cooperated and we were able to get a few outdoor shots despite the cold temperatures (Check out the BUMP pics... My favorite!) We then moved inside and got some more intimate shots of Katie and her hubbie Keven. Here are a few previews from the shoot, there were so many great shots! :) Krista
A note from Katie :) :) "Krista - Just with the handful of photos that we've shown friends and family, everyone is SO impressed with these shots! We've heard nothing but raves with the feedback. We honestly couldn't be happier with how you captured The Belly and Keven and me in general. We're so glad to have these pictures as a reminder of this special time. Thanks for making us look so good! Can't wait for you to photograph Baby Boy." You are SO welcome Katie! I can't wait to meet him!
