Landen A.

Landen and his mom Malorie were in town from Dallas, TX to visit their family for the holidays. This little man was so much fun and by the end of the shoot we were best friends. I loved his hugs and I think he wanted to stay with me when his Mom and Paw-Paw were ready to go. :)

    Here's a few favorite shots!

The Awesome Garrett Family!!!!

Meet the Garrett Family...well actually they are no stranger to KLP. Krista has photographed Amanda and MJ several times, but this was a first for the rest of the family. We had such a great time, especially trying to get the little ones to smile! Here are a few preview pics from the shoot. I hope you love them Garrett Family as much as I did taking them for you!

Reagan returns...

I had the most difficult time picking out favorites to post on the blog with this one. Reagan came back to us for her 6 month photos and she once again proved to be a superstar. She is one of the easiest babies I have ever photographed and every shot of her is so stinking cute! I had to just give up and randomly grab a few, so here's your sneak peak of this munchkin. :)

    Miss Addison!

Addison came in with her mom and grandma for her 8 month pictures. She was absolutely adorable, and was so good during the shoot! And just look at those blue eyes, gorgeous! Thanks for coming in, enjoy the preview....

Kalisa's Headshots

Kalisa came to us from RSP music for some promotional shots. She brought her mom and a couple of great guitars to use during the shoot. As you can see, she was a natural in front of the camera and we had a great time ! Hope you love them Kalisa!

The Burns Family!

The Burns family came into the studio to update their family photos and we had a great time! The little ones were so fun and really knew how to smile for the camera. Jonathan, who is five, had tons of great shots (making it very difficult to decide which would go on the blog). Hope you enjoy the preview, and Merry Christmas!

3rd time's the charm...

So, I begged Krista to give me work to do a week after I had the baby...I hate not having something to do! Ha ha. However, TODAY was my official day to start shooting again. :)

I was so glad to see Miss Annie. I have shot her two previous sessions and she just gets cuter every time she comes in! Her mom always has the cutest outfits and props with her and she didn't disappoint today. I was in love with that hat!

    Here are your sneak peeks...

Davis Family!

Amber Davis has been to us before and brought adorable curly-hair Jaden! This time we did some shots of the whole family! Jaden came walking in with his bright red toy train, and hoped he would see a real one out the window. Finally, toward the end of the shoot, a REAL train came... We all got so excited!! I had a lot of fun with these guys :) Hope you enjoy!

Thank you..

A big heartfelt thank you to all of you. I really appreciate your emails, phone calls, flowers and prayers before and after my shoulder surgery! Thought I would give you all a little update on my progress..

For those of you that don't know, I have struggled with shoulder problems for the past 3 years. Mainly, my shoulder catches all the time, then my entire arm goes numb. Most of the problems were caused by holding a 10 to 15 lb camera for 8 to 10 hours/day. Long story short, my shoulder was excluded from my health insurance as a "pre-existing" condition, so until this year I was not able to get treatment. I did physical therapy for much of this year, but it didn't help. We did MRI's and when the results came back I was told I definitely needed surgery as I had some torn ligaments and a labrum tear. Problem was, I was already booked for the entire year, so I had to wait until the majority of my jobs were finished.

I decided to have my surgery done by Dr. Burton Elrod of Elite Sports Medicine. He is the surgeon and on-field doc for the Tennessee Titans. I figured that he is experienced with working for people whose careers depended on the surgery, and I cannot afford to have this surgery twice (as I cannot shoot for 3 months after the surgery!)  So Wednesday afternoon we went in for the surgery. They numbed me all up and Dr. Elrod came in to talk to me one more time before they knocked me completely out. He raised my arm up to do some tests and when he went to flex my shoulder, my entire shoulder came out of the socket. (Thank GOD they had already numbed me up!) Dr. Elrod re-assured me that it was a good thing I was getting this fixed while my mom's face drained of all color. I don't remember much after that. Everyone there said I was the happiest patient they had in a while. Apparently Dr. Elrod asked me what I had been shooting lately, and I started to tell him, then burst into singing Def Leppard songs. Mom said I sang "Pour some sugar on me" to the entire operating room before I fell asleep. Gotta love those drugs.

I woke up and mom took me home. They gave me a nerve block, which paralyzes your left side and blocks any pain you might have... so... I felt great for the first 1o hours. But then the block wore off and of course it hurt like crazy. I have been on some pretty major pain pills ever since, but they make are now making me nauseous so I am trying to wean myself off of them. It will be a slow recovery, but I am just glad the worst of it is over. I will going home to Chicago for the majority of the next month to recover, and then will return to Nashville in January.

Again thank you too all of you for your thoughts and kind words. An especially big thank you goes out to my mom, who took off work and flew down here to help me. She has not left my side and I don't think I could have done this without her. Love you mom, you are the best.

Have a great week ya'll and I hope to talk to you soon.  Hugs, Krista  :)

P.S.  This post would not be complete without at least a few pics.... This is what I have been doing for the past 3 days... Sitting in bed.  Fun times.
Right after getting home from the hospital. Feeling pretty loopy and not feeling any pain! (Yeah, that didn't last long... lol) In this pic : Me = Whack job.    Ha!

Jen Zuffinetti & Family

I had SO much fun with Jen and her family! Some of them were in town from California! They wanted some family photos out at Leiper's Fork! Loved the huge red barn, horses, dogs, four-wheelers, giant swing. We all had a great time! Hope you enjoy!
